Special campaign for the Bnai Zion Russian Division in Russian
For a long time Bnai Zion didn’t have an active Russian Division. At the beginning of 2007 our new Russian Division was established and Oleg Liner Ph.D became our president and Elizabeth Levin became our vice president. We developed a board of directors and are pleased to have many committed supporters involved in our division.
We are looking to connect within the very large, vibrant and successful Russian Jewish community of New York and increase our membership and scope of our activities, which include fundraising for Bnai Zion projects and educational programs.
As the Russian Division expands and more people become active, our ability to help the Medical Center, Ahava Village, the Quittman Center at Israel Elwyn, the David Yellin College of Education and the community of Ma’aleh Adumim will grow. We plan to hold dinners, parlor meetings and other events that will showcase interesting speakers from Israel and will unite more immigrants from the ex-Soviet Union in social and cultural settings. We welcome newcomers who want to learn more about our important projects and participate in our events.
A monthly newsletter in Russian is also in the planning stage and we welcome involvement in this project as well.
Boris Kiderman, a Bnai Zion supporter for several decades and a former president of a previous Russian Division years ago, is the founder and organizer of this new division. Boris, a Bnai Zion vice president for the last decade, has worked tirelessly for a long time to bring this new Russian Division to fruition and increase funds sent to our projects in Israel. His dedication and continued outreach efforts are sure to further develop the Russian Division.
